A state trooper and a sheriff deputy were both injured when a car hit them at a Cincinnati intersection while investigating a two-vehicle crash, report State Highway Patrol.

The trooper was hospitalized with a broken leg and lacerations to his head, none of which are severe or life threatening. The deputy was expected to be treated for minor injuries and released.

The officers were in the intersection investigating an accident that occurred earlier when they were hit by a car driven by an 18-year-old woman.

The woman stopped after the accident, he said. The officers were working in a four-lane road where the speed limit is 35 mph, he said.

Authorities hadn't determined if the driver will be charged. Troopers needed to take a statement from her and finish their investigation.
