A recent Chicago study shows that MRSA infections in children have more than doubled in recent years. The study examined more than 20,000 children from 2001-2006. The results showed a rise in MRSA infections from 12% to 28%.

MRSA, or methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, is a dangerous infection that is drug-resistant. Doctors consider this a to be major public health problem and think that the rise in MRSA infections is due to improper use of antibiotics.
