A woman killed by her ex-boyfriend in his home, is being sued by her family in wrongful death lawsuit.

The lawsuit was filed by her family in Androscoggin County Superior Court. The ex-boyfriend (her killer) was found guilty following a three week trial earlier this year. He is currently serving a 55-year prison sentence.

The lawsuit claims he acted with malice when he shot her in the back of the head, in August 2005, when she arrived at his home.

Along with wrongful death, the lawsuit lists several other claims that include emotional distress, conscious pain and suffering and burial and medical costs and more.
